Gate and Komainu Deepen Institutional Infrastructure Partnership: Trade on Binance, OKX, Hyperliquid and Six More Venues From Regulated Custody
29 October, 2026 – Building on their Off-Exchange Settlement partnership, Komainu and Gate now enable institutional clients to trade simultaneously across Gate, Binance, Bybit, OKX, Deribit, Kraken, Hyperliquid, Lighter and Aster, using a single unified margin pool, while keeping assets in regulated, segregated custody.
Komainu, the institutional gateway for digital assets backed by Laser Digital and Blockstream, and Gate, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, today announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership. Building on the successful deployment of Off-Exchange Settlement (OES) through Komainu Connect, the two firms are now integrating Komainu’s institutional custody infrastructure with Gate’s CrossEx product, a cross-exchange trading solution that enables unified margin management across 9 major exchanges simultaneously.
The expanded partnership represents a meaningful step forward in institutional digital asset market infrastructure, combining two capabilities that have historically been difficult to access together: the security and regulatory assurance of segregated, bankruptcy-remote custody, and the capital efficiency of unified multi-venue margin management.
From Off-Exchange Settlement to Full Capital Efficiency
The original Komainu Connect and Gate partnership established a foundational principle: institutional clients should be able to access deep liquidity on Gate without exposing their assets to exchange-level counterparty risk. Through OES, client assets remain held in regulated, segregated custody with Komainu while trading activity occurs on Gate, eliminating the need to transfer assets onto the exchange and significantly reducing operational and counterparty risk.
The integration of CrossEx now extends this principle across 9 major trading venues. Institutional clients can maintain their assets in Komainu’s custody infrastructure while using Gate’s CrossEx unified margin pool, available under CrossEx’s cross-exchange margin mode, to trade across all 9 exchanges through a single API connection, without the need to deposit, manage, or reconcile margins separately at each venue.
A New Standard for Institutional Capital Efficiency
For institutional clients, including quantitative funds, asset managers, and market makers, capital fragmentation across multiple exchanges has long represented one of the most significant operational and financial inefficiencies in digital asset trading. Maintaining separate margin deposits at each venue ties up capital, increases reconciliation complexity, and creates multiple points of counterparty exposure.
The combination of Komainu Connect’s OES infrastructure and Gate’s CrossEx platform directly addresses this challenge. Key benefits of the integrated solution include:
Single custody, multi-venue access. Assets remain held with Komainu in regulated, segregated, bankruptcy-remote wallets. Through the CrossEx unified margin pool, a single pool of capital denominated in USDT, BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP, USDC, HYPERLIQUID_USDC, LIGHTER_USDC, KRAKEN_USD can be deployed as shared margin across all 9 exchanges simultaneously, with cross-position P&L netting across venues.
Dramatically reduced capital fragmentation. Institutions no longer need to maintain separate, over-collateralised margin balances at each exchange. In CrossEx’s cross-exchange margin mode, shared assets and unrealised PnL across venues are aggregated at the account level, so gains on one venue can help support margin requirements on another — improving overall capital utilisation within a unified risk control framework.
Single API integration across nine venues. CrossEx provides a unified REST and WebSocket API covering trading, account management, fund transfers, and risk control across 9 exchanges. Combined with Komainu Connect’s OES infrastructure, institutions can access the full breadth of multi-venue liquidity through a single, streamlined integration — significantly reducing engineering and operational overhead.
Consistent risk and compliance framework. CrossEx provides a unified clearing and settlement layer, together with an independent risk control layer, giving institutions a single risk view and operational interface across all 9 venues. While each venue continues to match and settle trades independently, CrossEx consolidates account, margin, and risk management. This complements Komainu’s existing maker/checker controls, approval frameworks, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory oversight.
Broad asset and product coverage. The integrated solution supports spot, margin, and USDT-M perpetual contract trading across more than 12,600+ live trading pairs, with cross-exchange transfer support for fifteen major assets.
Looking Ahead
The expanded partnership reflects both firms’ shared commitment to building institutional-grade market infrastructure that meets the standards of traditional finance while unlocking the unique opportunities of digital assets. With further venue integrations planned for later in the year, the integrated solution will continue to expand the universe of liquidity accessible to institutional clients through a single, custody-secure, capital-efficient framework.
As CrossEx’s venue coverage grows and as Komainu continues to extend its multi-jurisdictional regulatory footprint across Jersey, Dubai, and Singapore, the partnership is positioned to become a defining piece of institutional digital asset market infrastructure globally.
